In a recent article at Primusweb.com, Vicki Pierson, Personal Trainer for the American Council on Exercise (ACE), gives some interesting statistics. She cites studies which have shown that married couples who voluntarily begin a supervised fitness program are less likely to drop out than married men and women who join without their spouses."Specifically," says Pierson, "about half of the married 'singles' who join alone end up dropping out of a fitness program."Despite their best intentions to exercise regularly, these people find that factors such as family responsibilities and a lack a spousal support eventually cause them to break from their fitness routines. If only they and their spouses could get in shape together!
So you and your honey get along in life, but does this mean you're compatible as exercise buddies?
