Council Member Anna Piercy said, "The expense of those is quite steep, and rather than adding more to the residents cost," she thinks the council should "make it free, just like the garage sale."
She said that Briggeman charges Cypress more than other cities.Piercy said, if residents have the bin located on their own property, such as in the driveway, then no permit is required.
Council Member McCoy said, "Los Alamitos is charged less than Cypress."We're the highest of any city as far as the residents are charged," said Briggeman. He was also in favor of not charging a permit fee.The issue will be discussed at a later date after further investigation.
