   Rich Pierce is a Vice President in the Telecom and Media Group in Legg Mason's Investment Banking Department focusing on the telecommunications equipment sector as well as the ILEC and wireless services industries. Mr. Pierce joined Legg Mason in 1999 and his experience includes a wide variety of merger and acquisition assignments, public financings and private equity financings. His clients include Chorus Communications, Conestoga Enterprises, Nextel Partners, St. Cloud Wireless Holdings and Warwick Valley Telephone Company. Prior to joining Legg Mason, Mr. Pierce spent seven years as an officer in the United States Army. During his tenure in the military he served in a variety of tactical intelligence assignments in the United States and Germany and graduated from both the Airborne and Ranger training programs. Mr. Pierce received his MBA from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton school, where he graduated with distinction, and holds a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Brown University.
