Julie Pier, director of The University of South Dakota financial aid office, will be on hand to explain the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and to answer questions concerning the application process.

Peggy Kuck, from the Education Assistance Corporation in Aberdeen, and Julie Pier, director of financial aid at The University of South Dakota, will be on hand to address parents' questions and walk them through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.

The University of South Dakota also lets students file for revisions to their aid based on drought circumstances, said Julie Pier, director of financial aid.

ŒŒWe expect to see an increase this year because this is a regional problem," she said.

Students usually prefer additional grants and loans over work study hours, she said.ŒŒA lot of times, these kids are looking for grants and loans because they don't have the upfront money."

The additional financial aid also may be available to families involved in agricultural businesses such as implement dealers.
