Stuart Pielop Business & Policy Associate
Stuart Pielop works to promote Good Company's various energy efficiency policy initiatives. Currently, these efforts include working with the PUC, utilities, consumer groups and our clients to design and implement a refrigerator and freezer recycling market transformation program in Texas as part of the existing SB7 energy efficiency programs. Stuart also supports our efforts to reduce mobile emissions by assisting our clients with issues related to emissions banking and trading, helping them participate in the Houston-Galveston area's Mass Emissions Cap and Trade program.
In addition to these present responsibilities, Stuart has also conducted market feasibility studies on behalf of the Alternative Fuels Research and Education Division (AFRED) of the Texas Railroad Commission and the Propane Research and Educational Council (PERC). These studies evaluate the potential for propane fueled switcher locomotives to reduce emissions in air quality non-attainment areas and the market potential for propane fueled residential-scale (5kW) fuel cells.
Stuart has been with Good Company since March of 2002 when he began as a contractor researching the potential for clean coal technologies as a source of clean energy in the state of Texas. Stuart ultimately joined Good Company on a full time basis in October of 2002.
Stuart brings to Good Company a strong background in energy and emissions finance, marketing and trading. In his previous experience with the former energy giant Enron, Stuart acquired a broad range of skills developing producer finance packages, structuring tax credit driven synthetic fuel deals, and conducting fundamental energy and emission market analysis. While he was initially assigned to Enron's Houston office, he was ultimately transferred to Sydney, Australia, where he helped to extend Enron's coal business into the Asia Pacific region.
Stuart graduated Cum Laude from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina with a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering and a minor in physics.
