Michelle has worked consistently in cutting edge productions for theatre, indie film and, most recently, radio.She has performed in numerous stage presentations, cabarets and indie films.She stars in the No Cents Films feature Life on a Leash in which she plays a girl who wants a life, but gets a dog.Several of her shorts have traveled the country on the festival circuit from Methodfest to Fargo.Chocolate was a finalist for the 2002 Golden Snail award in Bra, Italy.
From 1999 - 2004 Michelle worked in a series of performances with the innovative company Theatre Movememt Bazaaar first appearing in a Dadaist adaptation of Chekhov's Three Sisters, and eventually traveling to Charleston, SC for the Piccolo/Spoleto festival with the critically acclaimed, Cirque Picnique.Through the rehearsal process she indulged her love of the absurd and poignant learning a new physical language.The experience continues to inform her work.
Other favorite stage roles include the Coquette in TMB's Strange Beliefs, Esmerelda in Nicholas DeBeaubian's Hunchback of Notre Dame with Sacred Fools, and the Tiger's Bride in Angela Carter's The Bloody Chamber with Zoo District where she was a company member.
She first presented solo work in her hometown Seattle, with Aria, a satirical gothic rant.Currently Michelle is a member of the storytelling collective The Quarterly Report.She has presented RAZZMATAZZ, The Spider Whisperer, Bleach, Alien Gothic and Baby Schmaybe at the Evidence Room and Space at Fountain's End to sold out houses.Work has also gone up at Improv Olympic, The Comedy Union, Sacred Fools' "Ten Tops," Women's Night Out, and Cornucopia.
As the Mistress of Pop, Michelle co-hosted public radio's culture program American Pop which aired nationally.She can be heard across the country daily announcing on the nationally distributed, award-winning program Marketplace.Her humorous commentaries and feature stories have also hit national airwaves.
Michelle resides in Los Angeles with boyfriend Mishaco.
