Mr. Marc Philippe has about 20 years experience in private equity, and mergers and acquisitions in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. He co-led Abraaj's US$ 1.1 billion acquisition in Acibadem Healthcare Group, where he served as the company's Chief Financial Officer to support the group's expansion in Turkey, and the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia (MENASA). Mr. Philippe started his career in corporate finance with Société Générale and Baring Brothers.

He moved into private equity in 1994 at Duke Street Capital and later GE Capital. In 2000, he founded an applications service-provider to cater for e-commerce and supply-chain management needs of the aerospace industry. In 2001, he joined Electra Partners Europe (Cognetas) and Abraaj Capital in 2006. Mr. Philippe has executed acquisitions, venture capital, strategic minority investments and leveraged buyout (LBO) transactions across a range of industries. He contributed to the acquisition of leasing companies with a combined value of US$ 1.5 billion and to the ?12.2 billion acquisitioon of Wind, Italy's third-biggest telecom operator. It was the biggest LBO in Europe at the time. Mr. Philippe has an MBA from ESSEC, the leading business school in France.

Patrick Eisenchteter and Marc Philippe will join the Paris office as Directors, and Federico Pastura, an Italian national, is joining the European private equity specialists as an investment manager in the London office.
