Teri Peterson will be the new principal at Horace Mann Elementary School, replacing Melissa Riley.

Peterson has been assistant principal at Hickory Hills Elementary School and Hickory Hills Middle School.

She has been with the district for 18 years.Prior to being assistant principal she was a teacher at Bowerman and Sequiota elementary schools.Before coming to Springfield Public Schools she taught at Morrisville for four years.

Peterson received her Bachelor of Science in elementary education from MSU in 1983, her master's in education from Drury University in 1990 and a specialist degree from MSU in 2005.
