    Grant Thornton LLP in D.C. announced Steve Perkins has joined the global public sector practice as chief strategy officer. Prior to joining Grant Thornton, Perkins was sector vice president, information services sector, Northrop Grumman Corp., where he directed government and customer relations within the sector. Previously, he served as the IT sector vice president for global business development, strategy, marketing and alliances. Perkins has more than 30 years of consulting and management experience working in both the public and commercial sectors. In addition to his work at Northrop Grumman, he served in senior positions at Oracle Corp. and Booz Allen Hamilton. In his 11-year career with Oracle, Perkins served as a senior vice president and general manager of North American Public Sector, U.S. Aerospace and Defense, Oracle Services Industries consulting, as well as general manager of global financial services and as senior vice president of the North America commercial consulting practice. At Booz Allen, he was vice president and partner in the global information strategy group focused on IT strategy for financial services and manufacturing sectors in the U.S. and Europe.

    Perkins joins Northrop

    Northrop Grumman Corp. has hired Steve Perkins to direct business development for the Los Angeles company's IT sector.

    Perkins most recently was senior vice president of Oracle Corp.'s North American government, education and health care business.He also developed and led the Redwood Shores, Calif., company's homeland security initiative.

    At Northrop Grumman IT, Herndon, Va., Perkins will be vice president of business development and strategy.His tasks will include oversight of Northrop Grumman IT's long-range strategic plan, leading its marketing and communications initiatives and managing its internal partnerships and alliances.
