  After 25 years in the European consumer electronics business, the 49 year-old Perbet has been appointed to a strategic position that will put his vast expertise in consumer entertainment and distribution to excellent use.A graduate of the IPAG business school, Mr. Perbet began his career by bringing to market Texas Instruments TI99/4, the first home computer available in France.He went on to set up the first sales network for the VIFI Nathan software, before joining the electronics division of Sony France, where he started the personal computer division.He held a number of sales and support positions at Sony France before being appointed COO.During this period, Mr. Perbet started Sony's PC business in Europe and brought out the Vaio line of personal computers.He was later appointed COO of Sony Europe and President of its consumer electronics business.
