David Penter, course director and current chair of the science panel, will welcome delegates at 1.45 on Tuesday 14th December.After introducing his instruction team of College science staff and member of the 11+ and 13+ CE science panels, delegates will set off on 16 hours of intensive laboratory work plus an evening meeting on examination matters before the course closure at 1.00 pm the following Thursday.
The modular programme has enabled individual teachers to select four units from a menu of twelve and thus tailor to their specific needs.This is a format which has stood the test of time and is the essential ingredient in maintaining the success and popularity of Malvern College science courses.
David Penter taught biology at Malvern College from 1968 and was Head of Biology from 1982 and Head of Science from 1996 until his retirement last summer.Apart from his continued work for ISEB, he is advising publishers on science textbooks for the 7 - 13 age group.
