  Scott Pence took ownership of Sunset Realty in 2001 from the previous owner and founder. Scott started with Sunset Realty in 1994 as a closer, among other duties such as laundry and working in the housekeeping department. He had obtained his real estate license and wanted to learn the vacation rental business in order to better serve real estate clients. After a very short time at the business, Scott was given a management role. As a result of a death in the family, Scott had to leave Central Oregon only to return to Sunset Realty as the General Manager in 1996. He was chiefly responsible for growing the company from a mere 124 vacation homes to well over 225 today.
