Stephen has lived and worked in Asia since 1976, when he served with British Army Intelligence in Hong Kong.Stephen is a former Managing Director of the Asia-Pacific Region for Pinkerton, with responsibilities and operational security assignments in India, South Korea, Thailand, China, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, Vietnam, Taiwan, Indonesia, Hong Kong and the Philippines.Stephen has personally conducted investigations and security assignments in all of these countries, hired and supervised personnel there and maintained contacts in each location over the last 25 years.
Stephen is an expert in the conduct of security surveys, audits, risk and threat assessment, including Emergency Planning and Business Recovery services.He has designed and implemented fraud protection programs and investigated defalcation and corruption cases.Stephen has also supervised the construction and installation of security systems, created and coordinated security policies and procedures and trained staff in post orders.Stephen is also a Security Specialist for The Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency, in respect to ISO 9000 certification.He is also fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin.
Stephen has a Master's Degree in Business Administration for the Warwick Business School, University of Warwick, in the UK.He is a member of the American Society for Industrial Security and a Certified Protection Professional.He has served as the ASIS Regional VP for Asia and is also a member of The American Consultants League, where his is recognized as a Certified Professional Consultant.Stephen is licensed by the Hong Kong Police under the Security & Guarding Services Ordinance.
Stephen is an active member of the International Trademark Association, where he has served on numerous anti-counterfeiting committees.He is a world-renowned expert in Intellectual Property Rights and is frequently profiled, interviewed or quoted in media on the subject of IP enforcement throughout the Asia-Pacific Region.
