Dr. Payne noted the division can't lose sight of the fact the exam results are only one indicator of student achievement, adding test results should be used to set directions for future courses of action.

"Improving our provincial exam and diploma results is similar to landing on the moon; the course is not exact and it requires some adjustment to achieve the desired outcome.

"Yearly exam results allow teachers to analyze, adjust and reflect toward our goal of having all BRSD students achieve great results."

Overall, Dr. Payne said the division can be extremely proud of its results, once again, and attributed the success of the 2003-04 results to school communities.
