    John Patrick enters his third year as head strength & conditioning coach for Jacksonville University, where he is responsible for the strength and conditioning development of all 18 Dolphin athletic programs.

    Patrick came to JU in May of 2004 after a year-and-a-half at Georgia Southern University, where he designed & implemented the strength & conditioning programs for women's soccer, women's track and field, men's tennis and men's golf, while assisting with football, baseball, women's volleyball and women's basketball. His development program covered all aspects of strength & conditioning including weight training, conditioning, flexibility and sports nutrition.

    Prior to joining the Georgia Southern staff, Patrick served as a volunteer assistant strength & conditioning coach at Youngstown State University and New Mexico State University. While at both universities he assisted in the design and implementation of programs for football, men's and women's basketball, softball and men's and women's track & field.

    Patrick also spent a year as a graduate assistant at The University of Texas at El Paso, designing programs for women's tennis, women's rifle & women's track & field, while assisting with football, women's volleyball, women's soccer & women's basketball.

    Prior to his experience in collegiate athletics, Patrick worked as a strength & conditioning intern with the Detroit Tigers Baseball Organization (Spring Training), before moving on to work with the Cleveland Indians Extended-Spring Minor League Team (Mahoning Valley Scrappers). While working in professional baseball, Patrick assisted in the development of pre-season and in-season strength and conditioning programs, working with specific athletes on warm-up, stretching, strength training and conditioning and nutrition.

    Patrick is a member of the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCC), and is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCS), the International Sports Science Association (SPN) and the United States Weightlifting Association (USAW).

    Patrick earned his B.S. in exercise science from Mount Union College in 1999 and his M.S. in kinesiology from Georgia Southern in 2004.
