NORTON, Va. - Dr. Sapna Patel, a medical oncologist, has joined the medical staff of the Southwest Virginia Regional Cancer Center.

Before coming to Norton, Dr. Patel practiced medicine in Michigan and Ohio.She received bachelors' degrees from the University of South Florida and S.P. University in India.Dr. Patel received a medical degree from Spartan Health Sciences University in St. Lucia.She completed residencies at the William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, Texas, and at the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital at Ohio State University.She completed fellowships in medical oncology at Providence Hospital and Medical Centers in Michigan and at the University of Michigan.

Dr. Patel is board certified in internal medicine and board eligible in medical oncology.She is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
