Senture is pleased to announce the addition of Mr. Steve Parsons as Vice President of Government Services.In this capacity, Mr. Parsons has responsibility for development and management of federal, state, and local government accounts.
Prior to assuming this position, Mr. Parsons served the Department of Homeland Security as Deputy Program Manager for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) Program.In this position, he was responsible for the management and oversight of all facets of the TWIC Program and prototype system, including strategic planning, capital planning and investment control, system security and privacy, technical standards and specifications, stakeholder outreach, interagency agreements, and development of policies and procedures associated with the TWIC Identity Management System.
Prior to his appointment as Deputy Program Manager in December 2004, he served as both the TWIC Operations Manager and TWIC Technical Manager from September 2003 to December 2004.As Technical Manager, Steve received the prestigious TSA Gold Award for Intelligence and Technology for 2004.
Soon after the events of September 11, 2001, Mr. Parsons assumed responsibilities within the newly formed TSA to help address identity management threats and vulnerabilities in the transportation industry.He led a 20-person team in the design, development, test, evaluation, and deployment of an enhanced access control capability for the nation's transportation workers.
Mr. Parsons is a veteran of the United States Air Force where he served his country for over 20 years.He has over 25 years of international transportation experience and over 12 years experience in developing and designing automated systems, to include smart card-based identity management systems, access control systems, and biometric applications.
Mr. Parsons is a past Chapter President of the National Defense Transportation Association.He served on the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Biometrics Working Group and participated in a variety of government interagency advisory boards designed to standardize approaches and avoid duplication of effort in smart card and biometric implementations in the federal government.
