Kim Parson The Lexington Herald-Leader

Kim Parson is the assistant managing editor/nights for the Lexington Herald-Leader.She works with the news editor, copy desks, designers and graphic artists.She began making the daily hour commute to Lexingtonfrom her home in Louisville about three years ago after working as a designer at the Courier-Journal for two and a half years.She's gone through one car and listens to at least one book on tape a week.

She is a December 1986 graduate of Western Kentucky University with degrees in journalism and English.After a couple of years as a designer and copy editor at the Owensboro Messenger-Inquirer, Kim spent about 10 years at The Orlando Sentinel where she held positions as designer, copy editor, copy desk chief and design desk chief, and played numerous rounds of golf.She is a Society of Newspaper Design award winner.

Kim lives in the far east end of Louisville with her husband, Creig Ewing, assistant sports editor of the Courier-Journal.
