Gordon who was active for over 20 years in YAMSEN (Yorkshire Association for Music & Special Education Needs) worked with an inclusive approach in mainstream and special schools long before it became popular to talk of Inclusive Education.

Our condolences to Mrs Anne Parry founder member of the Saddleworth Branch of The Yorkshire Country Women's Association on the sad loss of her husband Mr Gordon Parry, a former teacher at Saddleworth School, and a person of the highest calibre.

Born Gordon Parry, he trained as a teacher.Made a life peer in 1975, he went on to make a distinctive contribution to the Upper Chamber as a gifted speaker and by instituting the much acclaimed annual St David's Day luncheon.
