Mr. Yogen Parikh is the Director and treasurer in Environment department of Indian Environmental Association.Mr. Parikh is a Chemical Engineer and obtained his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, from Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, USA 1969.

He has prepared Environmental Impact Assessment Reports for Bharat Shell Limited; Garware Polyester Limited; Nirma Limited; Gharda Chemicals Limited; Ranbaxy Lilly Company; Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation; ICI India Limited; South Asian Petrochem Limited; Saint Gobain Glass India Limited; Oswal Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd.; Essar Steel Limited; Essar Oil Limited

Mr. Parikh is member of various societies like Indian Association for Environmental Management; Indian Water Works Association; Water Environment Federation, USA; National Executive Council, Chemtech Triple Expo 96; National Executive Council Envirotech, 1997, 1999 FICCI Voluntary Consultancy Cell, 1990; Committee on Urban Waste, Transport and Noise Pollution of the Study Group on Environment, Government of Maharashtra, 1990.

He has designed and engineered large Effluent Treatment Plants for NOCIL at Thane; South India Viscose at Sirumugai; Hoechst India Limited, Bombay; Herdillia Chemicals Limited, Bombay; Synthetics & Chemicals Limited, Bombay; NOCIL at Chiplun; TISCO at Jamshedpur; Hindustan Ciba Geigy Limited at Goa; Reliance Industries Limited at Hazira; I.G. Petrochemical Limited at Taloja; Mitsu Industries Ltd.

He was also associated with preparation of reports for various studies in pollution control field for World Bank, U.S. Aid, Lahmeyer International, Germany; Pharmaceutical Industry and Pesticide Industry for Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India etc.

He is the Co-Chairman of Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Committee; Bombay Chamber of Commerce & Industry.Since 1994 he is the advisor to Envirotech Chemtech Foundation of U.S. Asia Environment Partnership, U.S.Govt.

Major projects of significance involve World bank aided Second Madras Water Supply Project; preparation of comprehensive documents for various industry sectors including textile, heavy inorganic and vegetable oils, feasibility report upon Treatment and Disposal of Wastewater (Domestic and Industrial) from City of Bombay for Bombay Municipal Corporation along with Metcalf & Eddy of U.S.A and Kirloskar Consultants Limited.

Design of natural gas distribution system including pipelines, regulating and boosting stations, etc. Field supervision of installation of interstate pipeline for conveyance of natural gas.Preparation of development plans for natural gas distribution system.PEOPLES GAS LIGHT AND COKE COMPANY, Chicago, U.S.A.
