"We had some concerns about the density of the proposal," said Bill Papale Sr., a zoning commission member."We were also concerned about the effect it would have on the natural environment of the area and a nearby cranberry bog."
Papale said there were also concerns that the development would increase traffic on neighboring streets, including Daybreak and Partridge lanes.

But Papale said the group's opposition didn't overly influence the commission's decision.
"Of course we listen to all concerns raised during the public hearings, that's why we have them," he said."But we consider each of the applications individually and make the best decision based on all the information we get."
He said he felt no pressure from the grass-roots group to deny the application.
"The decision made was made because it was the right decision," said Papale.
