  Ron Palmeri is responsible for setting product direction, and overseeing corporate development, operations and engineering for the company.Prior to Grand Central Communications, Ron assisted several entrepreneurs in their early stage as an initial investor and advisor.Before that, Ron was Vice President of business development for Oblix, a Silicon Valley-based e-business infrastructure software firm named to the UPSIDE Hot 100 private companies in 2000.Ron built key industry alliances, which included Cisco, Microsoft, IBM, Intel, Novell, Sun/Netscape, Oracle, Siemens and KPMG, and he secured strategic investments from Cisco and Siemens.
  
  Prior to his work with Oblix, Ron was Vice President of strategic relations for Novell where he developed high profile partnerships, which were credited with turning around Novell.Ron was also General Manager of the Business Internet Services division and held business development and sales positions at Novell as well as at NYNEX.
  
  Ron received his B.A. from Middlebury College and attended Institut d'Etudes Politique in Paris towards that degree.

  "Grand Central and Lante are forming a joint selling and marketing arrangement to position solutions around Web services," said Ron Palmeri, vice president of business development at San Francisco-based Grand Central.
  
  The focus of the arrangement is developing interactive, real-time applications, said Tim Cuny, principal at Lante, a Chicago-based technology consulting company.Lante's integration skills will be coupled with the Grand Central network to enable enterprises to use Web services to integrate with partners in a secure environment, the companies said.
