My mother, Aida Pagan, has had RSD for over 10 years. She injured her wrists on the job.She continued to work with this injury for almost a year after the initial encounter. She was, like many others, initially diagnosed with Carpal Tunnel. After surgeries on both her wrists, our family doctor finally thought perhaps it was RSD.Uncertain because of his inexperience with RSD, he sent her to specialists who then sent her to Cleveland Clinic (OH) where she has seen Dr. Stanton-Hicks for several years.
In efforts to treat her RSD and receive Total Disability, she has seen well over 45 doctors since the beginning of her diagnosis. She has dealt with Worker's Comp and Social Security denials.Doctors-even attorneys-told her she had a psychological disorder; they had psychologists who reportedly confirmed these false allegations.Amazing!!
