HAMILTON - Joe T. Owings, 83, died Wednesday, March 6, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle in Columbus.He was born Sept. 9, 1918, in Monroe County to the late William "Bill" and Claude Lusby Owings.He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving with the 109th Chemical Mortar Battalion in Europe.He worked with Machine Products in Prairie and he was a retired farmer.He was a Mason in Lodge No. 0280 and a member of the Hamilton United Methodist Church.
