  Emma Owings' practice focuses on defending people, businesses and schools in civil litigation, and in particular the resolution of insurance-related matters. She typically handles cases involving personal injury, death, property damage, premises liability, and school liability. Emma has five years of school litigation experience and has attended the National Institute of Trial Advocacy.
  
  Emma earned approval as panel counsel for the Washington Schools Risk Management Pool in January 2008. She has been involved in approximately 100 school liability cases, which have involved representation of twenty school districts. This representation has involved a wide variety of issues, including physical assault, sexual assault, bullying, harassment, athletic injuries, defamation, injuries occurring on school premises or with school-furnished equipment, injuries occurring during school-sponsored activities, bus/auto/pedestrian accidents, negligent hiring, training or supervision, and property damage.

  Emma graduated cum laude from Seattle University School of Law in May of 2002. She received a Bachelor's Degree in Politics, as well as a Certificate in Environmental Studies from Princeton University in 1999.

  Emma is a member of the Washington State Bar Association, the King County Bar Association, and the Washington State Defense Trial Lawyers. She is the Pro Bono coordinator for Preg O'Donnell & Gillett, a program she initiated and implemented for the firm through which the firm provides legal services to those in need.
