Seymour K. OwensAn adventurer who celebrated lifeSeymour K. Owens, 64, of Oak Island died Friday, July 30, 2004, as a result of an automobile accident.
Owens was a member of St. Philip's Episcopal Church in Southport, where he was an active parishioner.He was a member of NASS, the Southport Sailing Club as well as a longtime member of the Coconut Sailing Club in Miami, Fla.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Carol Owens; his mother, Patricia; his family members and numerous friends in Oak Island and throughout the world.He was an adventurer and celebrated life, opening doors to share his gusto with family and friends.
A memorial service was conducted Tuesday at St. Philip's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Barry Kubler officiating.
The family requests memorial contributions be directed to Diabetic Stem Cell Research, Washington University of St. Louis, One Brookings Drive, St. Louis, MO 63130, in his honor.
