Piet Oudejans - Terrestrial Officer
Piet is from The Netherlands and has lived in Holland for most of his life.Piet has a masters in population ecology with the terrestrial ecology and nature conservation department of Wageningen University and Research centre. His theses were on the Philippine Eagle, large wild herbivores in the Netherlands' largest terrestrial national park and on terrestrial estuarine ecology of the Rhine river mouth.
After four years of working as an ecologist for the ministry of nature conservation and as an ecological consultant it was time to start travelling.Piet worked his way across the Atlantic as delivery crew on a yacht and ended up in Mexico where he joined GVI's Pez Mayan expedition as a volunteer.
The conservation work and the joy of working with a large group of enthusiastic people really got to him.So after a few months more travelling Piet ended up in South Africa as an interim manager for a lion research project and from there he joined the Kenyan project in December 2005.
