Stephanie Otto, 29Executive director, Westown Association-Business Improvement District #5
Otto plays a key role in marketing the western end of Downtown, and "in the long run, [she will] have an enormous impact on people's perceptions of the city, making it a better place to be."She sees a future in work for a community foundation or owning a retail business.
"There is a tremendous amount of opportunity in Milwaukee for ‘emerging young leaders,' especially in the nonprofit sector," Otto says."I have had many opportunities to meet with Milwaukee decisionmakers and have a place at the table in the short time I have been executive director of the Westown Association.…I think that now is the time for new ideas to take shape and new leaders to emerge. Many young leaders possess fresh ideas, a great work ethic, boldness and a collaborative spirit. These things will help to transform Milwaukee."
