KANSAS CITY, Mo. - HRB Business Services Inc. today announced that Stephanie R. Otto has been named to the new position of vice president and national finance director.A subsidiary of H&R Block Inc., HRB Business Services was launched last May to build a national network of accounting and consulting practices.

In her new role, Ms. Otto will be responsible for HRB Business Services' financial management, business and profit improvement plans, and internal control policies and procedures.She also will be actively involved in the acquisition and integration process for the acquired accounting firms as well as strategic planning for HRB Business Services.

Ms. Otto joined H&R Block in 1995 as the director of internal audit.Previously, she had worked as senior vice president, controller, for CoBank, ACB, in Englewood, Colo., and has held several management positions with other financial institutions and public accounting firms in Colorado and Nebraska.

Ms. Otto received a master's degree in business administration from Regis University in Denver, and a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of South Dakota, Vermillion.She is on the board of governors of the Kansas City chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors, and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Financial Executives Institute.
