Otey was one of the architects of the current 2 GHz Broadcast Auxiliary Service relocation plan.Now employed by SignaSys, Otey serves as Engineering Manager for SignaHelp, the company's training and services operation.He has been instrumental in the design and rollout of the nationwide training plan for Digital Electronic Newsgathering (D-ENG), part of the coordinated effort (funded by Sprint Nextel) to transition all U.S. television broadcasters to digital technology in narrower microwave channels.His expertise in helping broadcasters manage the conversion from analog to digital technologies arises from years of boundary-spanning work in transport systems for both broadcasting and telecommunications.His articles have appeared in TV Technology and other industry publications.
