Michael Ortiz Director of Human Resources Michael Ortiz joined Aleut Management Services in June 2007 as the Director of Human Resources.Mr. Ortiz received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Communications from Oregon State University in August 1996.He was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Air Force and received his first assignment to Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri as the Squadron Section Commander for the 393d Bomb Squadron (B-2 Bombers).Since his first assignment, he has moved to various bases such as Langley Air Force Base where he served in a number of critical positions to include Officer in Charge 1st Fighter Wing Command Center (F-15/F-22 Fighters),

1st Communications Squadron Section Commander, and 1st Support Group Executive Officer/Special Assistant to COO/Installation Commander.Michael then moved to Nellis Air Force Base where he served as Section Chief Relocations and Employment/HR Administration at the 99th Mission Support Squadron, 99th Air Base Wing Inspector General's Office, and 57th Wing Executive Officer/Special Assistant to CEO/Base Commander.Mr. Ortiz was the Commander of the Military Personnel Flight at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado.The Military Personnel Flight supported the United States Air Force Academy mission of developing 2d Lieutenants by providing military and civilian personnel support, family support, education services, and enlisted professional military education to 10th ABW, HQ USAFA, Cadet Wing, Dean of Faculty, and USAFA Preparatory School.Serviced 2,200 military, 1,900 civilians, 4,000 cadets, 250 preparatory students, 19,000 retirees, and 33,000 family members with a $2.6M budget.Mr. Ortiz is now the Director of Human Resources at Aleut Management Services in Colorado Springs Colorado.Mr. Ortiz has served a vast experience in the Human Resources Administration and brings a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to the Aleut Executive Team.Michael Ortiz

"We initiated the investigation because we had enough information to show there was quite a bit of street-level drug dealing in the Palace itself," said Michael Ortiz, commander of the Kings County Narcotics Force.

The drug deals uncovered were sales in increments of $20 to $40, and all involved methamphetamine, except for one, which was for methamphetamine and marijuana, Ortiz said.

"Our undercover agents would portray themselves as visitors and engage these individuals in conversation," Ortiz said Monday.

The drug sales happened in the bathrooms and on the gambling floor, Ortiz said.He added that the drug dealers could be very brazen, believing that because they were on a reservation, local authorities could not arrest them.

He said the Santa Rosa Rancheria's tribal council helped law enforcement.

"This was the first time any Indian gaming casino has cooperated to this extent," Ortiz said.
