Cargill Investor Services Appoints Michael Ortiz to Vice President of Business Development
Chicago - Cargill Investor Services, Inc. (CIS) today announced the appointment of Michael S. Ortiz as vice president of business development.Mr. Ortiz comes from CIS' parent, Cargill, Incorporated where he served as a senior trader since June 2001.As vice president of business development, Mr. Ortiz will lead CIS' entire North American sales and strategic account management team.Mr. Ortiz will report directly to Chris Malo, CIS senior vice president.

Prior to joining Cargill, Mr. Ortiz held several executive positions in the futures industry, including first vice president of Merrill Lynch.As first vice president, Mr. Ortiz initiated and managed a futures execution operation dedicated to the world's top agricultural firms and foreign banks.Mr. Ortiz also served as a senior vice president at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter.While there, Mr. Ortiz developed and managed an institutional and futures execution desk to specifically service the world's largest hedge funds and banks.
Mr. Ortiz is a past member of the Chicago Board of Trade and holds an Economics degree from the University of Colorado.
