Linda Ong is a communications generalist, with specializations in media relations, event management, and communications planning. A University of British Columbia alumni and journalism graduate from Langara College, Linda has worked extensively in the non-profit sector and has also worked in the education, apparel, and broadcasting industry.Recently, her demonstrated successes in publicity and media relations prompted her to contract out her services to small businesses and arts groups under Linda Ong Communications.She is an avid supporter of community service as a means for achieving personal and professional goals and has volunteered for various organizations including Vancouver Asian Canadian Theatre, the Vancouver chapter of the North American Association of Asian Professionals, the Ismaili Students Total Achievement and Recognition Awards, the National Forum for Volunteerism, and CIVICUS World Assembly 2001.She also participates in speaking engagements with a particular focus on students in communications, her alumni, and workshops for not-for-profit and grassroots organizations.Linda is a member of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC)/BC, the Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS) of Vancouver, and Canadian Women in Communications. Linda currently works at CBC Television as a Program Marketing Coordinator in the Communications Department.Prior to CBC, she was the Communications Officer for Knowledge Network.
