Alice Olsen, Salem Family YMCA aquatic director, received the YMCA of Roanoke Valley's first Hurley Lassiter Program Award at its annual meeting Nov. 18.The award is given in honor of outstanding, mission-centered leadership in any YMCA program field.Lassiter was a program director at the Central YMCA before his death in May 2001 of a congenital heart defect.

The recipients of the YMCA Mission Award were also announced at the YMCA of Roanoke Valley's annual meeting.
