ALBANY-Jenny L. Olsen, M.D., has announced the opening of her medical practice with Albany Family Medicine, located at the corner of Queen and Waverly Drives in Albany.Her interests include women and children's health and she plans to do obstetrics as part of her family practice.
Dr. Olsen, a graduate of Oregon State University and Oregon Health Sciences University, comes most recently from Lincoln, Neb., where she completed her family practice residency through the Lincoln Medical Education Foundation.As part of her residency, she worked as a physician in the Nebraska Wesleyan University Student Health Center and was a clinical physician for the Lancaster County Health Department's Well-Child Clinic.Her other work experiences include serving as an emergency and urgent-care physician at Community Memorial Hospital, Johnson County Hospital, and Linc-Care Urgent Care Center, all near Lincoln.
Dr. Olsen received her bachelor's degree in microbiology from OSU in 1991 and her medical degree from OHSU in 1997.An honors student, she was awarded Outstanding Service recognitions at OHSU and chosen as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.At OSU, she won Chiles Foundation, Middlekauf, and Simmons scholarships.
Dr. Olsen and her husband Brian, have one son, Nate.
Albany Family Medicine is a member of The Corvallis Clinic Medical Group, a multi-specialty group of 80 physicians with facilities in Corvallis, Albany, and Philomath.
