   Alexandre Oguey - oboe [Alexandre Oguey grew up in Switzerland and studied oboe at the Zurich Conservatorium. He has won numerous competitions in his homeland and abroad, and has performed throughout Europe as a member of various chamber groups and orchestras (Bayreuth, Swiss National, Luzern, Winterthur, and Zurich). He is currently Principal Cor Anglais with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and teaches oboe at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music] Born in Switzerland, Alexandre began studying oboe in the city of La Chaux-de-Fonds with Francoise Faller.

   As a student Alexandre gained first places in the Swiss Radio Competition, the Migros Chamber Music Competition and Martigny International Chamber Music Competition. He was Principal Oboe with the Bayreuth International Youth Festival and the Swiss National Youth Orchestra. An active chamber musician, Alexandre has performed throughout Europe as a member of the prize-winning Wildwind Quintet, the Lamalo and La Patisserie trios, Banda Classica, Octomania and as an interpreter of contemporary music with the Opus Novum Ensemble. He was appointed Associate Principal Oboe in the Luzern Symphony Orchestra, where he remained for seven years, and was also Principal Oboe with the Musikkollegium Winterthur and the Zurich Werkstatt Orchester. Alexandre is currently Principal Cor Anglais with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and teaches oboe at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
