photo of Dell OakesDell came to Restoration Church in November 2001.She is an ordained minister and had been working as an adjunct professor with Trevecca Bible College.She was responsible for teaching accredited courses for those living in Southwest Florida who were unable to attend the college in person.

Prior to that, Dell was a missionary for 47 years in various places.She wrote the material for teaching the Laotians to read and write their own language.When forced out because of the unstable conditions in Southeast Asia, she did home mission work holding Bible classes for professional people while teaching public school to support herself.In 1975 she went to Molokai, Hawaii where she established and pastored a church until 1983 when she turned it over to a young couple from Samoa.

She was associated with YWAM for several years in Honolulu Hawaii, running the maintenance program for the Honolulu training base and going on outreaches to Hong Kong, Taiwan and Okinawa.

Dell then worked in Honolulu for several years in a large independent church as their missions director.With a passion for missions and the lost, she opted to leave the large church and go to a small Lutheran church where she became the director of Chinese university student outreach ministries.She also taught an English speaking adult Bible Class within the Chinese speaking church.She retired to Florida in 1992 where she began her ministry with the First Nazarene Church and then on to Restoration Church.
