"The year has begun very well," said chief executive Finian O'Sullivan, highlighting ongoing drilling success at the M'Boundi field in Congo and the Burun field in Turkmenistan.
At M'Boundi, the company has seen the 2P reserve number increase by 55 per cent to 1.3 billion barrels - and further increases are expected.
"We are not in a position to give a net figure because every six weeks we get three more wells coming in and the information and data is always changing," O'Sullivan told oilbarrel.com.

"We have three wells on production, the fourth is perforating this week and a fifth is getting started," said O'Sullivan.

O'Sullivan is keen to progress Egypt to become a third producing area for the company. He would also like to pick up additional acreage in the country.
"We'll continue to grow the business in Egypt," he said."We don't want to just have a single block. Our office is just being set up in Cairo and we would hope to have more blocks in the country in the onshore domain."
Burren's management team also keep a watching brief on possible new ventures elsewhere.
"We are looking at two areas that might come on in 18 to 24 months," said O'Sullivan.
