Rogers' visit drew a crowd of around 300, though at first the students' union wasn't keen to upset its "business partners," says Michael O'Tuathail, a fourth-year political science student and a member of La Chiva, a Colombian solidarity student group that took up the "Killer Coke" campaign as one of its mandates.

Coke's contract with the University of Alberta could be extended to 2015, but O'Tuathail would rather see an ethical purchasing policy-that was signed long ago by the students' union-actually implemented.

"Coca-Cola cannot deny its role, not only in the murders, but by threatening the unions and the right of people to organize," said Michael O'Tuathail, President of La Chiva.
