O'ROURKE, 55, Rt. 8 is currently a town councilman.His seat on the Town Board is not up for election this year.

He has served as a councilman for 25 years and Republican committeeman for 27.He did not return an election questionnaire.

He is self-employed, the owner of Gary O'Rourke General Contracting.

O'Rourke has served as vice chairman and annual picnic fund-raiser for the county Republican Committee and is a delegate to the 4th Judicial Convention.He is also deputy supervisor of the Town of Lake Pleasant.

As a councilman and small business owner O'Rourke has planning and budgeting experience and 25 years experience working with other elected officials who did not always agree with each other.He says he is accustomed to listening to another person's point of view and seeing the merits in their positions.

He has been married to his wife, Deborah, for 29 years.
