Andy O'Rourke, Lead Pastor

In addition to his role as Lead Pastor of Antioch Community Church, Andy serves with the North Central District (EFCA) as Director of the Antioch Initiative.A graduate of Moody Bible Institute, he has previously served as the Church Planter/Senior Pastor of Hope Community Church in Glenwood, MN (2002-2006).Andy and Sara have been married since 1999 and keep busy with two wonderful children, Ava (3) and Luke (1).Andy enjoys preaching, teaching, developing leaders for ministry, fishing, sports, reading, and most of all hanging out with his family.

We are excited to welcome Andy O'Rourke to the North Central District Staff to fill the role of 20/20 Vision Implementer.Andy joins us from Hope Community Church in Glenwood, MN where he served as the church planter/senior pastor since 2001.A graduate of Moody Bible Institute, Andy has participated in Transforming Ministries, and has experience mentoring, coaching and training leaders.He is looking forward to his new ministry within the district and working together with the local churches to make an eternal impact for Christ and his kingdom!Andy, wife Sara, and daughter Ava will be making the transition to the Twin Cities area this summer. Andy O'Rourke

Andy O'Rourke is the church-planting pastor at Hope Community Church, which will meet in the auditorium at Minnewaska Area High School beginning June 9.

O'Rourke and his wife, Sara, grew up in Iowa Falls, Iowa, and moved to Glenwood in January of this year.

The O'Rourkes and six other families who make up the church's "core group" have been busy planning, studying and praying in preparation for the June opening.

"We've been meeting weekly for core group training," said O'Rourke, a graduate of Moody Bible Institute."That is more or less a Bible study to prepare and to plan."

The group's statement of purpose, according to O'Rourke, is threefold - "exalting God, upholding His truth and living the truth in love."

"We want to represent Jesus and share the love of Christ with communities in and around Pope County, be examples and point people to true hope that can be found in Jesus," O'Rourke said."That's kind of going off of the name, Hope Community."

Hope Community Church will host a family night on Friday, May 3.The event will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. at Minnewaska Area High School near Glenwood.
