Monroe dentist Dr. Michael F. Nolan, Sr. graduated from Northeast Louisiana University in 1972, and then from the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in 1976.He joined the partnership of King, Coates and Nolan with two of his fellow LDA members, Dr. Ralph King and Dr. E.D. Coates.Dr. Nolan has been very active in organized dentistry, serving as secretary and president of the Northeast Dental Association.He also served as the 1996 LDA president, and, as a member of the LDA Board of Directors, he served as a committee member on the budget, executive director search, distinguished service, continuing education, and insurance committees.
In his service to the dental profession, Dr. Nolan has been a member of the LSU Dental Alumni Association since its formation and was the president in 1986.He has also been an instructor at the University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM) and is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry and the Pierre Fauchard Honor Society.Dr. Nolan achieved Fellowship and Mastership in the AGD, as well as Fellowship in the American College of Dentists and in the International College of Dentists.He has also been active in his church and community, serving in leadership positions and on various boards, such as the Monroe Youth Baseball Association board, YMCA board, PTO of Neville High School, and the Alumni Association of ULM.He is an elder and deacon of the First Presbyterian Church in Monroe and received the Distinguished Leadership Award of the YMCA.
