SPEAKER: DAVID NOER, Ph.D.
The true value of human resources in a time of change is to ensure a smooth transition of the organization into the challenges of the new millennium.
Dr. Noer will conduct an interactive presentation where participants will be encouraged to critically examine and discuss their own jobs and organizations in the light of the helping, coaching and facilitating skills necessary to be truly relevant to the needs of new millennium organizations.Participants will be challenged to discover what they can do to make a difference and move from a controlling to a consulting approach to both help the organization, and for their own mental health.
Dr. Noer will, throughout the presentation, explore the following ideas and perspectives:
? How the stages of transactional analysis – parent, adult, and child – act as metaphor for the evolution of the human resource function in many organizations. In the child phase, human resources is "one down" and does whatever management tells them to do.In the parent phase, human resource functions control management by rules, policies, and procedures. In the adult phase, human resources enters into an authentic partnership with management.
? The true value of human resources in a time of change and transition is the facilitation of transitions.
