Taylor Van Zant (right) and Brian Noer are starting a business aimed at helping people make their rock and roll dreams come true.

With the help of his mother and local entrepeneur Dawn Van Zant, and experienced musician Brian Noer, Van Zant made the idea reality.

Van Zant wanted to make the place unique, so with Noer they decided to add a recording studio and lounge area, and they hope to host jam nights where startup bands can showcase their stuff to a small and supportive crowd.

Noer, who jokes he lives a double life-financial writer by day and rock star by night, adds I've been in this business all my life, and I know no one's looking out for you.This way, someone's looking out for you."Bands that record at Munch Music can also sell their original CDs there, giving themselves an avenue to promote their work.Most big music stores only stock the top 200 CDs," said Noer, who's most recently recorded three albums with a European rock band called HJ21 and toured Europe as the band's guitarist.He just moved to Ladner about a year ago from the U.K.Noer adds the recording studio can also be used by those looking to record karaoke" tracks, which make great gifts or can be a portfolio for singers to use to get recruited by bands.
