SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA - Kandy Noel, senior trust officer for Mid-State Bank & Trust, was recently awarded the Certified Trust & Financial Advisor (CTFA) designation from the Institute of Certified Bankers, a nonprofit organization sponsored by the American Bankers Association.
The CFTA designation is awarded to individuals who demonstrate excellence in the field of trust and investment management.To qualify for the CFTA certification, individuals must have certain levels of experience and education in the trust profession, pass an exam, and agree to abide by a code of ethics.The CFTA exam covers many areas including fiduciary responsibilities and trust activities, personal finance, insurance and estate planning, tax and investment management.
As senior trust officer for Mid-State Bank & Trust, Noel is responsible for administering trust and investment accounts for the Trust and Investment Management Division and also serves as a liaison to clients and beneficiaries.
Before joining Mid-State Bank & Trust in 2000, Noel worked for the Cal Poly Foundation for 10 years, where she was responsible for managing trusts, endowments and investments.Noel also spent seven years as a senior trust officer for Bank of America and seven years as a paralegal handling estate and trust administration.She received her bachelor of science degree in business administration from the University of San Francisco.
