Jyoti has been teaching handwork at the Waldorf School of Bend since 2002. She was also a kindergarten teacher for the school in 2001. Jyoti has taught at other Waldorf Schools such as Santa Fe Waldorf School in New Mexico and Montueka Waldorf School in New Zealand. She has taught Kindergarten, grades and handwork classes.

Born in New York and raised in Long Island, Jyoti has a Bachelor of Fine Arts, is a certified Waldorf school teacher, and also has done a portion of the Masters program in Art Therapy. In addition to her work with Waldorf schools, Jyoti has been a substitute teacher in the public schools, and she has taught in the "Artist in Residence" program since 2002.

Jyoti feels that the Waldorf School of Bend is small and personal and the children are glowing and beautiful. "Working here has given me the opportunity to do some of things that I do best," says Jyoti. When you watch her at work it is obvious that she really enjoys helping them create artistic fiber art creations.

Outside of her fiber arts talents and teaching, Jyoti enjoys hiking, swimming, and vacationing with her adult daughter who lives in Mt. Shasta.
