  Eddie Nixon studied to be a chemist before obtaining a BA (Hons) and MA at London Contemporary Dance School.He worked for 12 years as a freelance dancer for a wide range of companies and choreographers including New Adventures, The Featherstonehaughs, Protein Dance, DV8 Physical Theatre; Adventures In Motion Pictures, Rosemary Lee.
  
  He has also worked as a choreographer, taught and worked as a project manager for the Cholmondeleys, Dance UK and at Oxford Inspires.
  
  In 2004 Eddie was awarded a Fellowship from The Clore Leadership Programme.Over two years this gave him the opportunity to learn about strategic arts managenment and the issues facing the wider cultural sector.He undertook secondments to Oxford Inspires and ACE and carried out research into the differences faced by choreographers working in the academic sector.

  The season is programmed by Eddie Nixon, The Place's Associate Director of Theatre and Artists Development, who, as a dancer with The Featherstonehaughs and other companies, appeared on stage at The Place many times during the first incarnation of Spring Loaded.
