   Christian Brothers High School recently held ceremonies to honor long-time football coach Tom Nix and to retire the jersey of the late Chris Mosby.

   Members of the Christian Brothers High School 1956 football team gathered Sept. 8 at midfield at Tom Nix stadium. Dozens returned to pay tribute to long-time football coach Tom Nix. It has been fifty years since Nix began as the football coach at CBHS. Family, friends, alums, members of the Gold Helmet booster club, and thousands of fans watched as CBHS athletic director Wayne Gaia presented Nix with a plaque during halftime of the CBHS-Melrose football game.

   Coach Nix served as teacher and football coach at CBHS from 1956 to 1984 and as athletic director from 1984 until his retirement in 1995. He is an affiliated member of the Christian Brothers and is a member of the school's Hall of Fame.
   
   The inaugural game in the stadium that bears his name was held on Oct. 11, 1996.
