Dawson County Commissioner Julie Nix encouraged those who attended the dedication ceremony to help promote the center, volunteer their time and recruit students.

"This is just going to make Dawson County greater," she said.

To prove the point, Julie Nix, commissioner for the fourth district said, "Although I was actually elected to represent the people of District 4, I get a lot of calls from other people outside my district, and I try to help them anyway," she said.

Also in attendance will be other Republican elected officials such as Dawson County commissioners Julie Nix, Bill Saling, newly elected commissioners Gary Pichon and Mike Connor and many others.
