    Hall County Correctional Institute warden Don Nix could not be reached Thursday.

    But Katrina Adams, the correctional institute's business manager, said authorities continued to search Thursday for Maskevich and the county truck he took.

    "The truck could be at the bottom of the lake," she said.

    Authorities don't know if Maskevich has left the state, but Nix has said the man has family in Hall County and a girlfriend in a neighboring county.

    Commissioners unanimously approved the appointment of Deputy Warden Don Nix to the position of Warden of Hall County Correctional Institution.Former CI Warden Doug Derrer , now Public Safety Officer for the county , told the Commission that Nix was best qualified among several applicants for the position.Nix joined the CI staff in 1983 after retiring from the U.S. Marine Corps , and has served as Deputy Warden since 1986.

    Commissioners agreed to meet May 16 at 12 noon in the second-floor board room at 711 Green St. to discuss wording for several non-binding resolutions on the November ballot.As residents of the only county in Georgia able to place non-binding questions on its ballots , Hall voters may be asked to vote on : impact fees ; funding for greenspace ; funding for land acquisition and maintenance of county parks ; liquor by the drink ; consolidation of city/county services ; the rate of growth in Hall ; and full-time status for future County Commission chairpersons.

    Commissioners unanimously approved a pilot program for installation of speed tables on Cooley and Black Drives following Monday's presentation of a petition signed by some 45% of residents in the area.
